Rare first edition, composed of 63 pieces, decrees, letters, memoirs and others.
Modern rigid full vellum binding. Spine with 4 raised bands. Title and date labels in black sheep. On the upper cover, calligraphed in black ink, the title and date, as well as a framing frieze. The preliminary leaves have been reinforced with 0.5cm restoration paper in the left margin forming the gutter. Last leaf restored in margin with restoration paper that has yellowed. On title page, manuscript: Bibliotheca Sancti Germani Pratis, Cong. S. Maur. In the margin, an armorial stamp: Germania Pratis. A second stamp: Ministère de (illegible).
The pieces in this collection cover history from Charles VII to Louis XIII, they were selected for their value by the publisher. Extracts from the pieces: Decree against Jacques Coeur. Interrogation of said Valier. Discourse by Gaspard de Coligny. Discourse by M. le Chancelier de l'Hospital. Letter from the King of Navarre to the three estates of this kingdom. Letter from Monsieur de Nemours to Monseigneur le Duc d'Alençon. Letter from Monsieur de Villeroy to the King of Navarre, etc.

First edition of this poetic collection divided into three parts, comprising Latin poetry, French verse imitations of Horace and Ovid, sonnets, odes, tombeaux and the two books of Vers mesurez by Nicolas Rapin (c. 1535-1608). The third part, composed of 47 leaves, contains various pieces of prose, some Latin poetry and six pieces in French verse on Rapin. The general title is decorated with a vignette engraved on copper with the arms of France and Navarre.

Later binding (c. 1860) in full blonde shagreen, spine with four false raised bands decorated with gilt compartments and a green title label, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, decorative gilt board-edges, edges gilt.

According to the author's wishes, this edition was established by his friend Gillot and under the direction of Scévole de Sainte-Marthe. It can be found either at the address of Pierre Chevalier, or at that of Olivier de Varennes.
