Spine and covers slightly and marginally faded, as usual.
Inscribed and signed by Yves Bonnefoy to a couple of friends, dated 1976: "1946-1976 cher Pierre, chère Simone, il est grand temps de vous remettre cette pièce à conviction... Avec affection. Yves."

Very rare first edition of this Surrealist tract, published simultaneously with "Traité du pianiste," Yves Bonnefoy's first book.
This fierce text also reproduces a quotation from the Marquis de Sade: "Oui, citoyens, la religion est incompatible avec l'idée de liberté ; vous avez compris cela : Jamais l'homme libre ne s'abaissera devant les dieux du christianisme."
