Pamphlet published in Hong Kong 15 days after the proclamation of the People's Republic of China, reproducing the essay written by Mao Zedong in 1940. The city, long under British colonial rule, constituted at the time a space where the left-wing press enjoyed a degree of tolerance, allowing the distribution of works close to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Complete with its printed cover in red and black and its title page adorned with an engraving depicting Mao Zedong in bust, wearing a cap.
Small tears to the spine, a minor fold slightly affecting the lower left corner.
