New edition, after the first published in 1835 (appearing to be the third issue) and illustrated with an engraved title with a vignette of Château Gaillard and 61 plates on steel by Turner and engraved by Higham, Brendard, Smith, Willmore... All on strong vellum. The second title bears another title: Liber fluviorum; or river scenery of France.
Publisher's binding in full green morocco-style shagreen. Spine with false raised bands richly decorated. Gilt title. Double fillet border and triple gilt fillet frame on boards. Gilt edges chased with a pattern of fleur-de-lis. Traces of rubbing. The first endleaf and the engraved title partly detached. Some foxing, notably on the outer margins of certain engravings, the text fresh on tinted vellum.
