Elegant contemporary black gauffered leather by J. Anthoine-Legrain, small repairs to joints, covers with gilt fillet and blindruled fillet patterns and small squares making up the bars of a prison cell, a verse from this collection of poems in gilt letters to top of upper cover, "Et nos barreaux, seigneur, ne cachent pas le ciel [And our bars, Lord, cannot hide the sky]", moiré-effect paper endpapers and pastedowns, covers and spine preserved, top edge gilt. Slipcase edged in black gauffered leather, black paper boards.
