First edition, abundantly illustrated with 68 plates including 7 in colors hand-colored and gum arabic highlights (costumes in picturesque scenes), all on tinted paper.
Contemporary half light green glazed calf binding. Smooth spine decorated with rocaille tools throughout and panels. Gilt title and volume number in medallions. Small leather loss at head of volume 1, headcap present. Traces of rubbing. One corner bumped, the others slightly turned. Relatively fresh set, with pale scattered foxing mainly in margins. Good copy.
