Autograph letter dated and signed by Pierre Mac Orlan (12 lines in blue ink) to his young friend the novice poet Roger Valuet.

Pierre Mac Orlan thanks his poet friend for having sent him a new package and sends him a check to supplement the one he had sent him previously: "... to supplement the first check which was insufficient, as no one here knew the price of these fancy articles" and informs him that he must still postpone his visit to Arras: "I will not go to Arras before the end of October... again!"
A native of Arras, Roger Valuet is a popular writer who signed, under the pseudonym Roger Vilard, numerous detective and espionage novels. At the beginning of his career, he was helped by Pierre Mac Orlan who wrote the preface to his first collection of poems.
