This memoir, published by order of the Royal Academic Society of Savoy, of which the Comte de Boigne was president, notably recounts his travels in India.

Benoît Leborgne, Comte de Boigne, served in India and received from Prince Sindiah the supreme command of his troops, to whom he imparted European discipline and manoeuvres.

After the war Colonel Manhès was president of the National Federation of Deported and Interned Resistance Fighters

Contemporary full speckled blonde calf binding. Smooth spine decorated with a red morocco title label. Small tools depicting thistles and acorns as well as gilt stars. All edges marbled.
One endpaper slightly detached and one corner rubbed.
The Savoyard physician Joseph Daquin, besides his status as creator of psychiatric medicine known as alienism, presents a particular interest for thermalism and medical hygiene. It was upon observing the ignorance of thermal waters and their blind prescription that he decided to implement his research and propose his Analysis.
