Full glazed brown calf binding signed Purgold. Spine with false raised bands richly decorated with 4 romantic compartmental tools, blind wavelets on the bands, gilt and blind fillets. Blind decorative border on boards, series of gilt fillets forming border. All edges gilt. Light rubbing. Splendid binding executed by a master and one of the major binders of the Romantic period (pupil of Bozérian) on very fresh paper.
