Half old-red straight-grained morocco binding, near-contemporary, signed on the first marbled endpaper by Prosper Charon. Spine with flat false raised bands decorated with ornate compartments with black framing around the compartments and emphasizing the bands. Elegant binding. Rubbing to boards, edges and corners. Scattered foxing, mainly in the margins, on good white paper.
Rare illustrated covers preserved. The frontispiece has been placed before the front cover.
