Bound in contemporary tricolour half-shagreen with horizontal bands, the spine with seven raised bands framed by beige shagreen fillets, the boards in blue and red shagreen with wood-grain patterned panels evoking the white of the French flag; marbled endpapers and pastedowns; original wrappers and backstrip preserved; top edge gilt. Binding signed by Louis Gilbert.
