First edition illustrated with an engraved title featuring a large vignette, and 49 steel plates printed on China paper and mounted on strong vellum, drawn from life by Garland and engraved by Winkles. Text on tinted vellum.
Publisher's full blue cloth binding. Smooth spine, the title in a gilt Gothic cartouche. Boards with large blind angular ornaments of stylized foliage. Spine faded, discoloration to boards. Headcaps turned over. Almost all plates show dampstaining to lower margin, as well as the first 2 leaves.
