Marcel VÉRTES

Long unpublished autograph letter signed by Marcel Vertès to Carlo Rim, six pages. Written in a large, flowing hand in black ink on three leaves, stapled together with an envelope and a newspaper clipping. Some light foxing and folds.

 

A long polemical letter in which Marcel Vertès, a year before his death, defends his attack on abstract art and reproaches his old friend Carlo Rim for failing to support him.

First edition, one of 890 numbered copies on Johannot paper, the only printing.
