The author studied all genital diseases known at the time, taking care to separate them from syphilis. Several chapters are devoted to remedies (the author cites exotic ones, from India or elsewhere, without having experimented with them), others deal with recent venereal diseases including one that appeared in Canada, where patients lose limbs, another in Africa, etc... A work of definite interest in the field, notably because the author never forgets the history of diseases, the different countries and continents where the diseases rage... the work abounding in curious notes. At the end of the work, a pharmacopoeia of venereal diseases.
