Contemporary German full red morocco binding. Richly decorated raised band spine. Beige morocco title label. Boards decorated with dentelle border with large corner fleurons, double fillet frame and border frieze, all in succession. Spine slightly faded. Some rubbing throughout. Frontispiece browned as well as several leaves. Fine copy in a rare German full red morocco binding.
The military art treatise by Vegetius, Roman author from the early 5th century, was tremendously successful during the Middle Ages and the modern era, particularly during the Renaissance. It was commented upon by several authors including Steewech.
