Steven SPIELBERG

An emblematic filmmaker of the New Hollywood era, Steven Spielberg fused popular storytelling with technical innovation, defining the modern blockbuster with Jaws (1975), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) and Jurassic Park (1993). His historical dramas—Schindler’s List (1993), Saving Private Ryan (1998), Lincoln (2012)—earned him three Academy Awards (two for directing) and the AFI Life Achievement Award (1995). In 1994 he founded the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation (now the USC Shoah Foundation), today the largest audiovisual archive of survivor testimonies. He remains the highest-grossing film director of all time
