1757|9.50 x 16 cm|relié
First edition illustrated with a frontispiece representing a cabinet by Baudouin.
Full marbled blonde sheepskin binding. Spine with raised bands, decorated. Red morocco title-label. Headcaps torn. Upper joint cracked at foot and head. Corners bumped. Rubbing.
The particularity of this sale is noted for its large quantity of drawings, notably from the French school with Le Sueur, Poussin. Each section of the sale contains an introductory notice. A manuscript note on the front endpaper, from the 19th century, specifies that Potier had this catalogue and sale made with the aim of varying his collection and buying other things with the proceeds from the lots sold, but that his expectations were so demanding that many drawings and paintings were not sold. M. Potier was undoubtedly from the Potier de Noyon family, an illustrious family of lawyers.
