In 1950, Boris Vian described him as follows: « Vingt-quatre ans, un mètre 68, cheveux hirsutes, yeux noirs, poids 50 kg ; il fut successivement parasite, prisonnier, étudiant, résistant, écrivain, gigolo, puis époux. (...) Pomerand fut un des éléments surprenants du Tabou, du temps de ces beaux soirs. Il avait une façon bien personnelle de vociférer ses œuvres lettristes à la face du monde. »
