Rare first edition of this one-act play in verse dedicated to Marshal Foch and to the glory of French soldiers.
Boards marginally soiled and dusty, handsome interior condition.
Autograph inscription signed by Emile Poiteau to a couple of friends.
The author was himself poisoned by gas at Dompierre in October 1916 during the First World War.

Half brown shagreen binding, spine lightly with five raised bands set with double black fillets, gilt date at foot, traces of rubbing to spine, marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, top edge gilt, contemporary binding.
Autograph inscription signed by Emile Poiteau to the poet Jean Ott and his wife: "... aimé de tous... les Félibres du Nord..." ["... loved by all... the Félibres of the North..."]
