First edition illustrated with 17 plates, 6 of which folding, as well as a frontispiece and two plans. Placement leaf for the engravings at end. The only edition of this work considered rare, part of the copies are said to have been destroyed after printing. Brunet III, 1.888: "Work that has become rare, the edition having been partly destroyed."
Contemporary full tree sheep binding. Smooth spine decorated with grotesque compartments, three composed of lozenges and three others of stars. Frieze and framing fillet on boards. Roll on leading edges. Brown sheep title label. Tissue guards have been preserved. Handsome copy, particularly fresh.
