Full caramel calf bindings, smooth spines decorated with fleurons, stippling and gilt fillets, red morocco title and volume labels, gilt roulettes on headcaps completely faded, discreet restorations to joints, triple gilt fillets framing the boards, blue paper endpapers and pastedowns, gilt fillets on leading edges, all edges gilt, corners very slightly bumped, contemporary bindings.
Small light stains on boards, one stain and marginal tear affecting pages 185 to 200 of the second volume, some minor foxing, ink ownership inscription at head of each copy on endpaper.
Rare and handsome copy attractively presented.
