She thanks her correspondent for her wishes and sends hers in return, she apologizes for not having been able to meet her correspondent as planned: "je vous aurais vue à Lyon en fin oct où je devais signer à la librairie Masson mais elle était en embellissements et j'ai donc filé droit Paris-Marseille" ("I would have seen you in Lyon at the end of October where I was supposed to sign at Masson bookstore but it was being renovated and so I went straight from Paris to Marseille") and invites her to visit if she ever has the opportunity: "Ne manquez pas vous, si un heureux hasard vous conduit jusqu'à Nice, d eme faire signe." ("Don't fail, if a fortunate chance leads you to Nice, to let me know.")
