Publication due to Madame de Stael. She herself made a particularly judicious selection and choice among the mass of military and literary documents of Marshal de Ligne. The correspondence, thus carefully selected, reveals the intimacy of a personality within European affairs. The work concludes with a collection of maxims and various thoughts.
