First edition printed with 750 numbered copies on Arches Velin and planned for the exhibition of Léger's works organised at the Louis Carré gallery from 19 November to 31 December 1954, for which the catalogue has been published only two years after the retrospective.

Work illustrated with original lithographs by Fernand Léger: 6 unpaged colour plates, two of which are double pages, 5 black and white unpaged plates and 10 within the text.

A fabulous handwritten letter by the painter Fernand Léger, written on the front line during the Battle of Argonne, addressed to the Parisian art trader Adolphe Basler.
92 lines in black ink, four pages on a double leaf, dated 28 May 1915 by Léger.
The handwritten letter is presented with a half forest green morocco chemise, green paper boards with a stylised motif, endpapers lined with green lamb, slip case lined with the same morocco, the piece is signed by Goy & Vilaine.

Rare first edition of this poème-objet in concertina form folded back and forth, illustrated by Fernand Léger who married the text of the poem “Liberté” by his friend Paul Éluard with his striking pochoir technique. Original slipcase preserved, with author and artists painted in white on the side (two chipped edges on each top end of the plastic case).
Stencil print by Albert Jon after an original design by Fernand Léger produced at the request of the poet, resistant, and publisher Pierre Seghers. Edition of 212 numbered copies, this copy one of 200 copies on Auvergne paper. This copy has been skilfully restored.
