Contemporary full emerald shagreen binding, spine with four raised bands decorated with gilt and cold fillets and compartments, triple frame of gilt and cold fillets framing the boards, triple gilt fillet framing the watered silk pastedowns, gilt fillet on the leading edges, all edges gilt. Pastedowns and endpapers somewhat soiled, otherwise a handsome copy.
Our copy is expanded with a 13-leaf poetic manuscript in Henri Chevreau's hand bound at the head of the work.
Henri Chevreau published with Laurent-Pichat a collection of verse issued in 1841 titled les Voyageurs.

Full binding shagreen midnight blue, back with four nerves set with gold decorated with double black boxes threads and golden, light head scrapes back, framing of double gold and black nets on the boards, guards and white moiré silk contreplats containing small foxing, framing a set of triple gilt fillets on contreplats, all edges gilt, net gilded on the cuts, both corners with traces of friction, contemporary binding.
Our copy is enriched with an autograph quatrain signed Leon Laurent-Pichat.

Binding in full caramel shagreen, back with five nerves set with black nets adorned with double black boxes, title of the golden work wrongly spelled "Sybille", golden casters on the caps, framing of double black nets on the boards, framing of a golden lace on the counterplates, guards and counterplates of paper in the tank, all golden edges, golden thread on the cuts, elegant binding from the time signed by Simier and executed for the author.

Beautiful copy perfectly established in a full Simier binding and enriched with a moving autograph signed by the author to his sister.
