New edition of Tacitus's works in Latin and reprint of the 1760 edition, illustrated with three frontispieces by Ch. Eisen engraved by L. Lempereur, as well as three vignettes engraved on the title pages. This edition forms part of the collection of Latin authors published by Barbou, who had made it his specialty.
Contemporary full blonde calf bindings. Smooth spines decorated with compartments featuring floral motifs and numerals, as well as black morocco title and volume labels. Double fillets and gilt floral motifs framing the boards. Gilt roulettes decorating the leading edges and headcaps as well as the pastedowns. All edges gilt. Marginal tear p.125 of the second volume. In the third volume, p.367 annotated 667, and p.417 annotated 317.
