    Illustrated with 59 etchings engraved by Adolphe Lalauze after the watercolours of Eugène Lami.

    Full glazed brown morocco binding, smooth spine decorated with a pattern of gilt sextuple compartments, location and date gilt at foot, gilt roulettes on headcaps, covers framed with a pattern of octuple gilt fillets, white and purple watered silk endpapers and pastedowns, pastedowns framed with a pattern of quintuple gilt fillets, double gilt fillets on leading edges, original wrappers preserved, all edges gilt, magnificent unsigned binding.

    First edition consisting of an album of 10 original etchings by Adolphe Lalauze and a sanguine frontispiece around the theme of childhood.
    Publisher's full red cardboard binding, smooth spine without lettering, some scratches on the headcaps, title and illustrator's name stamped in gold on the first cover, blind-ruled frame on covers, covers slightly faded at foot, marbled endpapers and pastedowns.
    Pleasant interior condition, three of the ten etchings being signed in the plate.
    Presentation by Eugène Montrosier.
    Provenance: from the library of Ludovic Halévy with his bookplate pasted on a pastedown.

    Binding in half navy blue percaline with corners, smooth back decorated with a gilded floral pattern, date and double gilded nets tail, pieces of brown chocolate maroquinated shagreen, boards of marbled paper, preserved cover, binding of l 'time.
    Our copy is exceptionally enriched with an original watercolor by Adolphe Lalauze, which he signed at the foot of the fake title page.
