    New edition.
    Contemporary full navy morocco binding. Spine with raised bands decorated with 3 fleurons. Roulette at head and foot. Fillets on the raised bands. Covers stamped in blind with a central lozenge with interior quatrefoil and second lozenge. Blind-tooled frieze. Triple interior fillet. Gilt edges. Scattered foxing. Small areas on the upper covers of volumes 1 and 2 where the blue has turned blue-green, same on the spines. Very handsome copy.
    Volume 1 contains the poetry, volume 2 The Eclogues of Virgil and 2 tragedies, volume 3 the comedies and the Discourses on harmony and comedy.

    Full green Russia leather bindings, five raised band spines uniformly sunned decorated with fleurons and triple gilt fillets, fine gilt hatching on the headcaps, joints rubbed at head, triple gilt fillets framing the boards, gilt corner flowers, two corners slightly bumped, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, gilt roulette frame, gilt fillets on the leading edges, all edges gilt.
    Handsome copy on laid paper.

Contemporary binding signed Bibolet.
    Work illustrated with an engraved frontispiece, drawn by Desenne and engraved by Roger.
    Some foxing, otherwise good copy in signed contemporary binding.

    Near-contemporary full green morocco bindings, spines with five raised bands uniformly sunned, decorated with gilt fleurons, dentelles and fillets, gilt roulette on leading edges, gilt striated stars on headcaps, gilt roulette framing the pastedowns, all edges marbled.
    One frontispiece portrait of the author and 8 figures by Moreau, 7 of which engraved by Simonet and 1 by de Gendht.

    Late edition of the author's works, a playful, light and sarcastic poetry, of which he himself established the genre at the beginning of the 18th century.

    Full brown marbled and glazed sheep binding. Spine with raised bands, decorated. Red morocco title and volume labels. One lack at head of volume II. Good copy.
    This edition contains the letters of Jean-Baptiste Rousseau, Vert-Vert, the Eclogues, the Odes and various pieces, the Discourse on harmony, a tragedy and two comedies, as well as the speech delivered at the Académie française. Poet and playwright, his career began with light and playful poetry which had great success, notably Vert-Vert, his career continued after the 1740s in a more religious and serious register.
