Illustrated at the beginning with a folding plate.
A tear at the head of the spine, which also has a small loss at the foot.
A study of a series of 24 engravings from the early Florentine school, one of which had just been acquired by the Bibliothèque nationale.
Georges Gratet-Duplessis (1834-1899), a historian of printmaking, was director of the Bibliothèque nationale's Cabinet des estampes from 1885 until his death.
