The first pin-up girl in history, Betty Grable was one of the great stars of musical comedies, especially those created by Fox, from before and after the war to the point of accompanying American G.I.s during the Second World War, her legs being insured by Lloyd's for one million dollars. The arrival, in the early 1950s, of Marilyn Monroe, Fox's new star, would eclipse the aura that Betty Grable had with the American public.
