Half mint green cloth bindings, smooth spines decorated with blind fillets, gilt "société de lecture" lettering at foot of spines, some headcaps very lightly rubbed without consequence, a tear at head of upper headcap of volume 10, marbled paper boards, some boards with minor surface abrasions, some tears to certain leading edges.
Work illustrated with a portrait of the author as frontispiece to the first volume.
Printed library stamps on title pages.
Very rare set that is difficult to find complete due to the fact that the stock of the last five volumes disappeared in the fire at the publisher's warehouse.
