["An old tradition still holds today that in Paris, when a play is given to the public for the first time, the author's name does not appear on the posters. The spectators are informed that it is a play, and not an author, that is being presented to them. When everything is finished, the curtain rises. One of the actors steps forward and names the author, for reference, incidentally."]
