Frère Charles de Jésus, petit frère du Sacré-Cœur de Jésus, à partir de 1901 (ordonné prêtre en 1901 ; à Tamanrasset à partir de 1905). Béatifié en 2005. Canonisé en 2022

    Foucauld's Sahara Epistle


    Precious handwritten letter signed by Saint Charles de Foucauld, 4 pages in purple ink on a folded sheet. At the top of the first page is a handwritten version of his famous motto "Jésus Caritas", accompanied by a drawing of the Sacred Heart of Jesus surmounted by a cross, which he wore on his habit. He repeats this sketch accompanied by the word “Jesus” at the head of each subsequent page of the letter.

    Published in Georges Gorrée, Les amitiés sahariennes du Père de Foucauld, 1946, vol. 2, p. 183.
