Half dark blue morocco binding with corners, spine with five raised bands, gilt date at foot, marbled paper boards, blue paper endpapers and pastedowns, top edge gilt, elegant signed binding by Devauchelle.
Handsome copy beautifully bound of this work which was adapted for cinema in 1934 by Henry King with Spencer Tracy in the lead role.

Illustrated edition with original compositions by C.A. Edelmann engraved on wood by G. Beltrand, one of 1694 numbered copies on Rives paper.
