    "Dear Madam, I received the tube before your ticket, but I guessed without hesitation that the gift came from you. I know your delicate kindness: it touches me deeply, once again. Thank you. I will think of you , over there, in the moor, warming my frozen hands, during my morning walks. Goodbye, see you next Sunday. Accept my most affectionate wishes, dear madam, and believe in my deep devotion. Gabriele d'Annunzio. December 25th."
