    Bradel binding in full brick-red percale, smooth spine decorated with gilt floral motif, double gilt fillet at foot, black shagreen title-label, original wrappers preserved, bookplate pasted on pastedown, contemporary binding.
    Handsome copy despite some minor stains on boards.
    Deferential and beautiful autograph inscription signed by Georges Clarétie, the author's son, to Raymond Poincaré: "... en souvenir de son père qui aimait tant vous rencontrer à ces dîners dont vous étiez pour lui un des charmes." (in memory of his father who so loved to meet you at those dinners where...

    Full lavallière morocco binding, spine with five raised bands decorated with triple gilt compartments, place and date at foot, quintuple gilt compartment framing the boards, important gilt stamped decoration framing the pastedowns, combed paper endpapers, double gilt fillet on the edges, guilloche headcaps, original covers preserved, all edges gilt, binding signed...
