Half black sheep bindings, spines very slightly lightened with four raised bands set with gilt dots decorated with double gilt compartments embellished at their centers and corners with gilt fleurons, some small scratches to spines, marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, speckled edges, two corners slightly bumped.
Rare foxing of no consequence, minimal loss to one blank endpaper of the first volume, armorial bookplates pasted at heads of pastedowns.
