    Paris date and address of Elémir Bourges at the top of the letter, signature at the bottom of the letter.
    Central fold caused by mailing.

    Elémir Bourges wrote this letter in response to a request for photographs of the author. He replies that he does not have one and that his correspondent can nevertheless find old clichés in the press coming from Manuel or Waléry, two Parisian portrait photographers.

    First edition, one of 20 numbered copies on Hollande, the only large paper copies.
    Elegant red morocco binding by Semet & Plumelle, spine in five compartments, date at foot, gilt roulettes to head- and tail-pieces, red moiré silk pastedowns, marbled endpapers thereafter, gilt fillets to edges of covers, covers and spine (slightly soiled) preserved, top edge gilt; slipcase edged in the same morocco, the boards of the same marbled paper, lined with light brown felt.
    This copy is enriched with two autograph notes from the author.
    A very good, well-margined copy, superbly bound in an outstanding lined binding by Semet & Plumelle.

    First edition, one of 20 numbered copies on Holland paper, the only major paper.
    Binding half morocco blue at corners, back with four nerves decorated with gilded floral garlands, gold tail date marbled paper plates, guards and contreplats of flowered paper, nets gilded on the cuts, wrappers and back preserved and bound in, gilded head on witnesses, contemporary binding signed René Kieffer.
    autograph dedication of the author autograph signed and dated by Elemir Bourges Henry Thuile on the half-title page that is shaded.
    Nice copy wide-margined established pleasantly binding signed at the time.
