Edition with some parts in first edition of the second work, a mazarinade composed of three distinct parts: La tutelle des rois mineurs (p.1-64); Le roy mineur ou panégyrique sur la personne et l'éducation de Louis XIV; the last part of the volume contains no title. At the bottom of p. 180, the printer pasted a two-line slip to mask the mention Fin du livre, thus allowing passage to the last part, by Montandré, while the first two are by François de Bretaigne.
Modern pastiche binding in full tan calf. Spine with raised bands, decorated. Red calf title-label. Double fillet frame on covers. Traces of rubbing to headcaps, joints and corners. Some browning to pages. Bookworm damage in the inner margin of the last gatherings. Lacking the title page of the second part: Le roy mineur, as well as some preliminary leaves. Trace of brown dampstaining in outer margin on the first 18 pages of text.
La tutelle des rois mineurs is a violent piece against Anne of Austria; Le roy mineur is a work in praise of the royal couple and the Marshal of Villeroy. The entire collection of texts concerns the minority of Louis XIV.
