    Portrait of the actress leaning on her elbow, face resting in the hollow of her hand, looking at the photographer or at whoever looks at the photograph, with a melancholic expression. Very fine photograph. Photographs of Sarah Bernhardt are most often in stage costume, performing, those representing her naturally, which are older and where she appears younger, are much rarer. The actress remained quite faithful to the photographer as we find several portraits of her from her debut until around 1900.

    First edition, one of 50 numbered copies on Japan, the only major paper.
    Bound in full marbled sheepskin, back smoothes decorated with arabesques and gold theater masks, gilded wheels on the caps, golden motto of Sarah Bernhardt "Still" topped the first board, a scratch on the sidelines of the first flat, and guards contreplats of handmade paper, frame with golden lace on contreplats, gold piping on the cuts, gilded head, contemporary binding.
    Signed autograph Sarah Bernhardt Madame Hernalsteen for which it was connected the book and she should offer him.
    Book decorated with many illustrations including several colors.
