    Autograph letter dated and signed, one page, from Robert Aron addressed to Thierry Maulnier, 13 lines in blue ink.
    Central folds inherent to postal folding. Printed stamp "Fonds archives privées Maulnier" in lower left corner of the missive.
    Robert Aron discusses his candidacy to the Académie française for the seat previously occupied by Jean Paulhan: "Having, as you no doubt know, submitted my candidacy for Jean Paulhan's seat, I am delighted to have the opportunity to pay you a customary visit, which in this particular case will be for me a mark of sympathy and friendship: are we not both 'non-conformists of the 1930s'?"
