First edition, rare.
Binding half marbled sheepskin contemporary with small corners of parchment. Smooth back decorated with wheels. Title and volume pieces in red morocco adorned. Friction. Lower bottom corner of volume 3 cropped. Good copy.
Comparative History of the States-General, published on the occasion of their convocation in 1789. The first 2 volumes contain a history of the States-General in France, preceded by a brief comparison with ancient Rome. The third volume is dedicated to the English parliament.
