Didactic poem on the life of the Prophet Muhammad composed in the 15th century. A very popular text in the Ottoman sphere, the work enjoyed wide success as far as Russia and was several times the subject of commentary. It is a general treatise on Islam, dealing primarily with the life of Muhammad, but also the first caliphs, Creation, and the Last Judgment. It reflects a Sunnism imbued with Sufism.
