Humorous original comic strip executed in black felt-tip pen illustrating Monsieur Virgule intrigued before a mirror reflecting back a cubist image of himself, then indulging in capers to finally be replaced in reality by his reflection. Central fold. Monsieur Virgule is the creation of Carlo Rim for "Les nouvelles littéraires" in the 1930s then for "Les lettres françaises" after 1945. Manuscript notes by Carlo Rim in pencil and red pencil on the verso of the strip. Carlo Rim was a Provençal writer, author of "Ma belle Marseille", a caricaturist, a filmmaker and was notably the friend of Fernandel, Raimu and Marcel Pagnol but also of Max Jacob and André Salmon whom he met in Sanary.
