First edition posthume. Contemporary full glazed blonde calf binding. Smooth spine decorated with acorn tools. Red morocco title-label. One lack at head. Worming at foot. Scuffing to boards, with a lack of 2 cm in diameter. Nevertheless a good copy. Work presented as translated from ancient Greek. It is a philosophical dialogue on the senses and illusion, pleasure and love, God... The whole following materialist theses. "The thorough work of R. Brummer and R. Besthorn has shown in a very convincing way [.] that Fréret is indeed the author of the Lettre de Thrasibule à Leucippe and that Holbach [.] cannot be considered its author." (Vercruysse p. 38).
