Sammelband of 7 works printed in Paris by the celebrated Robert Estienne, a central figure in Parisian printing of the sixteenth century.
One of them, Seminarium et plantarium fructiferarum, is the rare second edition of a work by the printer's younger brother, Charles Estienne. Also included is the Pædologia Petri Mosellani Protegensis, which brings together, according to René de Maulde La Clavière, the two most important Latin dialogues for children at the time.
Later binding in full brown sheep, smooth spine decorated with gilt false compartments enclosing urns, red morocco lettering-piece, blind-ruled border to boards, gilt roulette to board edges, blue speckled edges, pastedowns and endpapers marbled in a shell pattern. Slight leather losses to the headcaps, minor wormholes to the spine, general wear and discreet leather losses to the joints, bumped corners and minor surface scuffing to board edges. A few very light scattered foxing spots.
Extensive contemporary Latin annotations in brown ink throughout all texts with the exception of the third, some slightly cropped by the binder. Manuscript ex-libris on the title-page of the first text.
