    First edition, one of the rare copies on Holland paper of which no mention is made.
    Half black shagreen bindings with corners, spines faded and sunned with five raised bands decorated with gilt fleurons, marbled paper boards with light scratches of no consequence, endpapers and pastedowns of floral-patterned paper, red edges.
    Some small annotations often chronological in pencil and reading marks in black ink on certain leaves and in the table of contents, some light foxing.
    Our copy is also extra-illustrated with press clippings and leaves of reading notes written by a previous owner.
    Work decorated with 13 plates hors-texte which do not appear to be contained in the volumes on ordinary paper.

    Binding in the bradel half vellum cardboard, paper plates with gold and silver decorative motifs, guards and contreplats of the same paper, gilded head, preserved covers, flexible cardboard case, platd of silver and gold marbled paper.
