First edition, a Service de Presse (advance) copy. A small tear at foot of spine, handsome copy. Autograph inscription signed by Louis Aragon to Monsieur Pérard.
First edition on ordinary paper. Half bottle-green shagreen binding, browned spine with five raised bands outlined in black fillets, marbled paper boards, endpapers and pastedowns, modest contemporary binding. Some light foxing on the endpapers. Provenance: from the library of Marcel Augagneur with his curious bookplate pasted on a pastedown. Signed autograph inscription from Marcel Aymé to the journalist Marcel Augagneur ("Gringoire" and "L'écho de Paris") who used the pseudonym Marc de Saligny for his writing.
