The novel is attributed in the preface to the author of Pamela, Richardson; Frances Sheridan is the true author according to Barbier.
Near-contemporary half marbled blonde sheep bindings. Smooth spine decorated with fillets. Beige morocco title and volume labels. Speckled brown paper boards. Tail of volume 2 split. Crack to upper joint at head and tail of volume 1, to lower joint of volume 2, to upper joint at tail and lower joint at head of volume 4, to upper and lower joints at tail of volume 5. Corners bumped. Handsome set nonetheless.
