Full midnight blue morocco binding ca 1880 signed Chatelin at bottom of front pastedown. Spine with raised bands decorated with 5 compartmented and decorated fleurons. Gilt title and date at foot. Arms stamped at center of boards decorated in Du Seuil style with rectangular frame consisting of triple fillet and fleurons in the corners. Wide and rich decorative gilt board-edges. Half-title leaf lined. Repaired tears on the first 2 leaves of text with browning in upper margin and trace of dampstain. Leaves 789 to 796 and 997 to 1003 browned in an otherwise fresh set. Spine uniformly darkened.
